Poor sick baby :( February 24, 2009

I received a phone call at 4:45 from Ariyana’s school saying that she was running a fever of 103.2 including the bump up degree (they add a degree to the temperature if they don’t take it rectally and they don’t take it rectally). I told them I would be there shortly and just make her comfortable as they can. When I got there to pick her up, her teacher told me that she was fine all day and then this afternoon she felt really hot and was kind of clingy. I asked how she ate today (because the last few days she has not been eating as much as usual). Saturday she didn’t eat lunch or all her dinner, Sunday she hardly ate lunch or dinner and Monday her teacher said she barely ate lunch. Her teacher said she didn’t eat very much today either but she did eat a sausage biscuit for breakfast.

She fell asleep on the way to get Zach which she never does, but I just let her sleep because she is sick. She slept in the car for like 45 minutes because we didn’t get home til 7:00. When we got home, we gave her some tylenol and then fed her some dinner. She was eating dinner and all of a sudden she started throwing up. And it was a lot of throw up, it just kept coming. I mean her lunch came back up too, it was so sad because she was getting upset and I know it didn’t feel well. After that, she didn’t want anymore dinner and I don’t blame her at all. I knew she needed some liquids though, so I tried to get her to drink some pedialyte…..she wouldn’t though, nor would she drink any of her milk. She wouldn’t even let me put the cup on her high chair, she would pick it up and hand it to me and whine til I took it off. I did give her cheerios though and she ate them so at least she got something in her little belly. After that, she went to bed at her normal time which is 8pm without a fight. I was worried since she took a 45 minute nap at 6:15 that she wouldn’t go to bed but she did………….she is such a great baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I feel so bad that she is sick.

Weekend fun February 16, 2009

Ariyana had a Valentine’s Day party at school on Friday and she got some good valentine’s from her friends there. She also made us a Valentine card and it was so cute. it says thumb bunny loves you and it is a little bunny on the front made with her thumb prints………cute idea!!!!!!!!! then you open the card up and there is a picture of her that they took of her and it is so cute. Then on Saturday she went to stay with her grandma and grandpa so that her mommy and daddy could go out for V-day. We gave her a little white bear and she loved it, it had to go to grandma’s with her…….everyone who knows Ariyana knows she LOVES stuffed animals. Now she is not attached to him like she is pup or bun bun but she did like him. She had a really good time that night.

Before she went to grandma’s on Saturday, she did have a slight mishap though. I was not at home because i went on a mission to find Zach some toaster strudels and ended up being gone 1 and 1/2 hours looking for them (long story). Anyway, she was eating some pizza we had made the night before and she must have choked on a little piece. She started throwing up everything she had eaten, her pizza, milk and even her breakfast. Zach said it just kept coming and coming, he said it came out her nose and everything. He said it was all he could do to not get sick with her (he is not the best with throw up). He did really good though, it was all cleaned up before I got home. She was fine after that but we both felt bad for her.

Smarty pants February 4, 2009

This morning when we dropped Ariyana off at school, her teacher looked at me and said quietly you know ariyana is so smart, she is the smartest kid in the class. She also told us that Ariyana has surpassed the comprehension of their classroom curriculum. Zach and I thought that was pretty awesome.

They are having a Valentine party at her school next friday and we are in charge of bringing strawberry syrup so that they can have pink milk…..is that cute. You know what else is really cool that they are doing?? On Valentine’s Day (sat) for $25 dollars, you can drop your kid off from 5-10 and that way you and your significant other can go out and celebrate. They will provide dinner for the children and play games with them. I think that is a really good idea.

Overall, she had a pretty good day, it was pretty uneventful….she is talking more and more every day but you still can’t understand her. It won’t be long though and i am sure she will be saying real words.

Trick or Treat November 4, 2008

Ariyana had a Halloween fall festival at school on Friday (Halloween). Zach was working from home that day so he took his lunch break and went down to the festival with her. He said it was fun and he took lots of pictures….she looked so cute all dressed up as a butterfly. After the festival, he took her by his mom’s house so she could see her all dressed up. She flew her around like a butterfly (a video will be available shortly) and it was so hilarious. Then he stopped by the bank with her and everybody got to see her all dressed up…..she was a little shy at first there but by the end, she was running all over the place. She had a good time, Julia (my boss’s granddaughter who is 3 days older than Ariyana) was there too.

When we got home, Lisa, Bradley, Trevor (9 yrs old), and Amelia (11 months) came over to go trick or treat with us. We went to Subway and picked up dinner, ate it and got ready to go trick or treating. Trevor was dressed as a vampire, Amelia as a flower, and Ariyana was a butterfly. They all looked so cute in their outfits. Lisa and Bradley brought their golf cart and that was so nice. We just all loaded on it and drove around the neighborhood. Lisa and I were holding the babies and would get out and carry them to the door….well let me tell you that got tiring FAST. Our arms were so sore after like the first 5 houses. We had to hold them on the golf cart and all the way to the door, so it was just continuously holding them. After like the first 10 houses we let the boys take them to a couple. Then we were back on the job taking them. We trick or treated for like 2 hours. It was a chilly out but I wasn’t that cold because I was getting a workout getting on and off the golf cart and walking to the doors. Ariyana and Amelia’s hands were cold but their outfits were fleece and had warm hats, so that was really good. They got some good candy and one guy was giving out change. Ariyana got $2.40 from him.

My mom and Richard came to our house to hand out candy while we trick or treated. They said we had a lot of kids come to the door. When we got back home, the kids were beat. Ariyana was laying her head on my shoulder towards the end of the night….it was like an hour and a half past her bedtime when we got home. Needless to say, she went to sleep as soon as we laid her down.

We had such a good time hanging out with our friends. We decided we should make this a yearly tradition for the kids. I am glad we got to all go together, it definitely made it more fun to have more people.
