So Friday my mom picked Ariyana up from daycare and was going to meet me at work. Well I got done at work and noticed that my mom and Ariyana weren’t there yet…so I called to find out where they were. My mom says, “well I was just about to call you about that. I was wondering if you can meet me at a shopphing center down the street.” I said I could and asked why. My mom proceeds to tell me that she was driving down the road…everything was fine….and all of a sudden Ariyana starts throwing up in the car. My mom freaked out because Ariyana did it like 3 times and my mom was worried that she was going to choke because the carseat kind of makes her lay back a little. She was in traffic and couldn’t pull over right away. Luckily, Ariyana didn’t choke, but she was covered in throw up. I got to the parking lot to meet my mom and check on my baby and Ariyana was in her diaper standing in a box that my mom had in her car. My poor mom was trying to get the throw up out of the carseat the best she could. It was all over the ground where she had dumped the carseat over. Ariyana looked just as happy as could be, but under her eyes looked really red. We finally got it all cleaned up and put some more clothes on Ariyana. I took Ariyana home and decided that we were going to the doctor the next morning.
Saturday morning Zach and I got up at 7:30 and got ready to take Ariyana to the doctor to see why she is throwing up and because she has had a runny nose and cough for a week. She seemed to be getting better but then Friday it got worse again. Anyway we finally get to Gainesville around 9 am. We have never been to this doctor so we didn’t know exactly where it was. I knew the address so we knew the road and thought we could find it….well we were wrong. I had no idea it was on the hospital campus, so we drove all the way down the road looking for it. When we didn’t see I called them to ask them where it was. The receptionist, who was not very friendly said, it is on the hospital campus. Well we went to the hospital campus and couldn’t find it anywhere. We drove all around it and behind and still no doctor. So reluctantly I called the “nice” lady back and said where on the campus are you. She said, “We are on the campus in the medical building.” I told her I wasn’t sure where the medical building was, and asked if she could give me directions from the ER because I knew where that was. She then tells me well the medical office building is on the campus, it says it right on the building….she was very snippy and a smart ass. So finally we find the medical office building, which is 4 stories high and go in. Well when we get in there we don’t know which floor it is on because the directory just says *separate entrance from upper parking deck. I just thought it meant that it was closer to park in the parking deck and go straight in….I mean the lady said we are in the medical building and they were on the directory?? So we go up all the floors and don’t see it. We do, however, see a janitor and ask him if he knows where the doctor’s office is. He infoms us that ALL the offices in this building are closed. I informed him that we just talked to them and they said they were open and in this building. He said there is a pediatrician in the hospital that sees people on the weekends. While I am talking to him, Zach finds a door that goes out to the parking deck and he walks outside….and down at the end of the parking deck is the doctor’s office. So yes they are technically in that building but you can’t get to their office from in the building….don’t you think the receptionist should have informed us of this, it was very obvious we didn’t know where we were going….what a wretch. We finally make it in there and tell her that we need to see the doctor. She proceeds to ask us if we had called this morning to make an appointment and if we had ever been there before. I told her we had never been there but we have an appointment scheduled for October 2nd. I also told her that I called yesterday and the guy who answered said you don’t make an appointment, you just go in. She was like well hold on and went and whispered to one of the nurses, saying they have never been here and don’t have an appointment. I guess the nurse said they would see us because then rude lady took our insurance and co-pay. While we were waiting and filling out paper work, I saw one of my co-workers in there with her baby who is 8 months old. Her baby had a cold too. Once we got in there the nurse weighed Ariyana, she weighed 17lbs 9ozs, and asked us what was wrong with her. The doctor came in and listened to Ariyana’s breathing and then she went to check Ariyana’s ears…the dreaded area. Ariyana HATES when the doctors look in her ear. She started crying and screaming. But she lived and in the end she ended up having a sinus infection and the doctor said if she didn’t have tubes in her ears, she would have had an ear infection too. She prescribed Ariyana an antibiotic (one she was on when she had ear aches) and we left.
After leaving the doctor, we headed down to Buford to the new Babiesrus and buy Ariyana more diapers. We also looked for a dress for Ariyana to wear to Jenn’s (my sister) wedding, but we didn’t find one. Then we wondered over to Toysrus (they are connected at this new store) and looked for presents for Ariyana’s first birthday. After we had fun playing with all the toys, we went to the dollar store to look for party favors for the goody bags for her party. While we were there, I adventured over to the party supplies section so see what kind of decorations they had. They had a REALLY cute theme and all kinds of party decorations for it. I ended up buying the invitations, Happy Birthday banner, 2 other banners with hanging flags, hanging spinners, cups, plates, napkins, party bags, straws, and some other things. I was so excited to find all that stuff there. After that we went and ate and poor Ariyana was so tired, she slept through the whole meal…then we went home.
Sunday we went to church, to the grocery store, and home. Ariyana played all day at home. All she wanted to do was push her little push toy around. She would start in the living room and go through the dining room, kitchen, and then back to the living room in a big circle. She did that forever today. Then Zach was out on the deck putting our grill together and she would walk over to the door and bang on it until he acknowledged her…it was so cute.
