Ariyana had a Valentine’s Day party at school on Friday and she got some good valentine’s from her friends there. She also made us a Valentine card and it was so cute. it says thumb bunny loves you and it is a little bunny on the front made with her thumb prints………cute idea!!!!!!!!! then you open the card up and there is a picture of her that they took of her and it is so cute. Then on Saturday she went to stay with her grandma and grandpa so that her mommy and daddy could go out for V-day. We gave her a little white bear and she loved it, it had to go to grandma’s with her…….everyone who knows Ariyana knows she LOVES stuffed animals. Now she is not attached to him like she is pup or bun bun but she did like him. She had a really good time that night.

Before she went to grandma’s on Saturday, she did have a slight mishap though. I was not at home because i went on a mission to find Zach some toaster strudels and ended up being gone 1 and 1/2 hours looking for them (long story). Anyway, she was eating some pizza we had made the night before and she must have choked on a little piece. She started throwing up everything she had eaten, her pizza, milk and even her breakfast. Zach said it just kept coming and coming, he said it came out her nose and everything. He said it was all he could do to not get sick with her (he is not the best with throw up). He did really good though, it was all cleaned up before I got home. She was fine after that but we both felt bad for her.

Fever from shots October 3, 2008

This morning when I was getting Ariyana ready for daycare she was laughing and playing with me while I was changing her until I touched her leg to change her diaper….then she started crying.  I knew her legs were sore from the shots so I gave her some Infant Tylenol.  She seemed okay after I got her dressed…she was a little more clingy this morning than normal but didn’t have a fever or anything.  We told the daycare that she had the shots yesterday and was sore so to keep an eye on her….and they said okay.

Around 1pm, I get a call from the daycare saying that Ariyana was running a fever of 101.6 and that she might need some medicine.  I asked if I brought her some, could they give it to her because last time I brought some they said they could not give it to her without a doctor’s note.  They told me since they knew the fever was from the shots, they would give her some but to call the doctor and have them fax over a note and it would be good for a couple of days.  So Zach and I, took our lunch, and ran to Wal-mart, got the Tylenol, and took it over to the daycare.  We gave her the medicine, kissed her and told her we would be back to get her soon.  She definitely had a fever but seemed okay still.  She was sitting at the table eating a cracker when we walked in.

At 3:30p, I received another call from the daycare saying that Ariyana still had a fever of 101.4 and she seemed very out of it.  I told them I would call the doctor and see what they said about it.  The doctor’s office told me it was normal for them to run a 101 or 102 fever for up to 3 days but longer than that I needed to call and let them know.  So we called the daycare back and told them that the doctor said that was normal and just to let her lay down and nap and we would be there as soon as we got off work.

I went and picked her up after work and talked to her teacher.  She said that Ariyana was doing okay and had taken nap.  She told me the other teacher earlier had freaked out a little about Ariyana’s condition.  She said Ariyana did have a fever but she was out of it because she was tired not because she was sick.  She said that she held her until she fell asleep and then put her in her crib.  She then just checked on her every once in a while to make sure she was okay.  When we were leaving, she said “Bye Ariyana, I love you, I really do love you, you are such a good baby, so easy.”  It made me feel good that they like Ariyana so much….I think that is why she hasn’t moved to the next room yet because they move up at a year, sometimes earlier.

By the time we got home, Ariyana acted like she was feeling better, she was playing and babbling like normal.  Then we fed her dinner and let her play til bedtime.  About 20 minutes before bed, Ariyana was playing in the living room and all of a sudden she just started throwing up all over the carpet.  It was not a little bit of throw up either, it was EVERYTHING she ate….it was so nasty.  We fed her baby food squash, which is orange so it looked nice on light carpet.  After that she got a bath and went to bed.  I got the stain out of the carpet luckily.  It was a very adventurous day to say the least….I am just glad it is FRIDAY 🙂

So I didn’t have a chance to write last night, but it was a pretty uneventful day. Ariyana did throw up AGAIN at daycare after her afternoon bottle. I talked with her teacher and I have decided that she is eating too much food so I reduced the amount of formula she got today. I usually send 3 6oz bottles but today I only sent 3 4oz bottles. She eats breakfast and lunch (the regular lunch off the kids menu) so she is getting plenty of food. And guess what, she didn’t throw up today…..YAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! I was excited and I know her teacher was too. She was in such a good mood in the car on the way home, which is good because she is not a big fan of riding in the car. She talked all the way home, it was da da this and da da that. Then when we got home, we put her on the floor to play with her toys and man she got up and was just walking from one toy to the other and from Zach to me and vice versa. It was like walking just clicked with her today. She did a lot better today than even yesterday, and walked a lot more today. I am so proud of her.

Weekend fun September 7, 2008

So Friday my mom picked Ariyana up from daycare and was going to meet me at work. Well I got done at work and noticed that my mom and Ariyana weren’t there yet…so I called to find out where they were. My mom says, “well I was just about to call you about that. I was wondering if you can meet me at a shopphing center down the street.” I said I could and asked why. My mom proceeds to tell me that she was driving down the road…everything was fine….and all of a sudden Ariyana starts throwing up in the car. My mom freaked out because Ariyana did it like 3 times and my mom was worried that she was going to choke because the carseat kind of makes her lay back a little. She was in traffic and couldn’t pull over right away. Luckily, Ariyana didn’t choke, but she was covered in throw up. I got to the parking lot to meet my mom and check on my baby and Ariyana was in her diaper standing in a box that my mom had in her car. My poor mom was trying to get the throw up out of the carseat the best she could. It was all over the ground where she had dumped the carseat over. Ariyana looked just as happy as could be, but under her eyes looked really red. We finally got it all cleaned up and put some more clothes on Ariyana. I took Ariyana home and decided that we were going to the doctor the next morning.

Saturday morning Zach and I got up at 7:30 and got ready to take Ariyana to the doctor to see why she is throwing up and because she has had a runny nose and cough for a week. She seemed to be getting better but then Friday it got worse again. Anyway we finally get to Gainesville around 9 am. We have never been to this doctor so we didn’t know exactly where it was. I knew the address so we knew the road and thought we could find it….well we were wrong. I had no idea it was on the hospital campus, so we drove all the way down the road looking for it. When we didn’t see I called them to ask them where it was. The receptionist, who was not very friendly said, it is on the hospital campus. Well we went to the hospital campus and couldn’t find it anywhere. We drove all around it and behind and still no doctor. So reluctantly I called the “nice” lady back and said where on the campus are you. She said, “We are on the campus in the medical building.” I told her I wasn’t sure where the medical building was, and asked if she could give me directions from the ER because I knew where that was. She then tells me well the medical office building is on the campus, it says it right on the building….she was very snippy and a smart ass. So finally we find the medical office building, which is 4 stories high and go in. Well when we get in there we don’t know which floor it is on because the directory just says *separate entrance from upper parking deck. I just thought it meant that it was closer to park in the parking deck and go straight in….I mean the lady said we are in the medical building and they were on the directory?? So we go up all the floors and don’t see it. We do, however, see a janitor and ask him if he knows where the doctor’s office is. He infoms us that ALL the offices in this building are closed. I informed him that we just talked to them and they said they were open and in this building. He said there is a pediatrician in the hospital that sees people on the weekends. While I am talking to him, Zach finds a door that goes out to the parking deck and he walks outside….and down at the end of the parking deck is the doctor’s office. So yes they are technically in that building but you can’t get to their office from in the building….don’t you think the receptionist should have informed us of this, it was very obvious we didn’t know where we were going….what a wretch. We finally make it in there and tell her that we need to see the doctor. She proceeds to ask us if we had called this morning to make an appointment and if we had ever been there before. I told her we had never been there but we have an appointment scheduled for October 2nd. I also told her that I called yesterday and the guy who answered said you don’t make an appointment, you just go in. She was like well hold on and went and whispered to one of the nurses, saying they have never been here and don’t have an appointment. I guess the nurse said they would see us because then rude lady took our insurance and co-pay. While we were waiting and filling out paper work, I saw one of my co-workers in there with her baby who is 8 months old. Her baby had a cold too. Once we got in there the nurse weighed Ariyana, she weighed 17lbs 9ozs, and asked us what was wrong with her. The doctor came in and listened to Ariyana’s breathing and then she went to check Ariyana’s ears…the dreaded area. Ariyana HATES when the doctors look in her ear. She started crying and screaming. But she lived and in the end she ended up having a sinus infection and the doctor said if she didn’t have tubes in her ears, she would have had an ear infection too. She prescribed Ariyana an antibiotic (one she was on when she had ear aches) and we left.

After leaving the doctor, we headed down to Buford to the new Babiesrus and buy Ariyana more diapers. We also looked for a dress for Ariyana to wear to Jenn’s (my sister) wedding, but we didn’t find one. Then we wondered over to Toysrus (they are connected at this new store) and looked for presents for Ariyana’s first birthday. After we had fun playing with all the toys, we went to the dollar store to look for party favors for the goody bags for her party. While we were there, I adventured over to the party supplies section so see what kind of decorations they had. They had a REALLY cute theme and all kinds of party decorations for it. I ended up buying the invitations, Happy Birthday banner, 2 other banners with hanging flags, hanging spinners, cups, plates, napkins, party bags, straws, and some other things. I was so excited to find all that stuff there. After that we went and ate and poor Ariyana was so tired, she slept through the whole meal…then we went home.

Sunday we went to church, to the grocery store, and home. Ariyana played all day at home. All she wanted to do was push her little push toy around. She would start in the living room and go through the dining room, kitchen, and then back to the living room in a big circle. She did that forever today. Then Zach was out on the deck putting our grill together and she would walk over to the door and bang on it until he acknowledged her…it was so cute.
