All day long on Sunday, we would say “hi” to Ariyana and she would say it back….and we were just so excited that she was saying that. Well then after Zach gave her a bath, he was putting on her pjs on the changing table and he was saying “baby” to her over and over again. We have been trying to get her to say baby for a little while now but with no success. Well then out of nowhere she says “baby.” Zach got so excited, I could hear him yelling in the kitchen. He kept saying, “she said baby, she said baby.” I told him that was awesome and I wanted to hear her say it to. He brought her down in the living room and she was playing on her rocking snail and Zach was sitting in front of her saying baby over and over. Well she said it again and again and again. I ran and got the camera……so excited that she had said her first word besides hi. I thought for sure she wouldn’t say it again since I got the camera. But to my surprise, she said it again TWICE while the video was rolling!!!!! The first one wasn’t that clear on video, but the second one was AWESOME and below you can hear it.
Weekend Fun!! September 16, 2008
Friday after work, I picked up Ariyana and we went to look for a dress for Ariyana for my sister’s wedding this weekend and for me a dress for the rehearsal dinner. I eventually found a dress for both of us and we ended up getting home at 8pm. Also my aunts and grandma came into town on Friday for the wedding. My grandma lives in NJ and has only met Ariyana once when she was 2 months old. My one aunt is from Ohio and has also met Ariyana once when she was 2 months old. And then my other aunt is from Arizona and has never met Ariyana. So of course we wanted to go see them. On Saturday we drove up to Helen and met them and my mom in Helen for an Oktoberfest parade…it was a very short parade, but we did get a good bit of candy. I made Ariyana wear shoes to the parade so she couldn’t walk in them very well, she kept falling down. I didn’t want her to skin her knee (we were standing on cement) so I put her back in the stroller. After the parade, we all went back to my mom’s house. My aunts, mom, and Ariyana all decided to go swimming in the pool. Ariyana has a car float that she loves to ride in. We put her in the pool in the car and she was just smiling and kicking her feet. Then my aunt starting running after Ariyana while my mom was pushing her around the pool. Ariyana had so much fun, she was laughing and smiling so hard….she loved it. Then after that, Zach and I went home and Ariyana stayed to spend the night.
Sunday we went back to my mom’s to visit everyone and pick up Ariyana. My two sisters also came up to see everyone. When I got there, I asked my mom how Ariyana did. She said Ariyana was a perfect angel. I was a little worried since Ariyana didn’t have a nap on Saturday, except for the car ride up there (35 min). My mom did, however, tell me that Saturday night at dinner, Ariyana was sitting in her high chair eating pieces of bananas and mashed potatoes. My mom said Ariyana started to get really sleepy and would start to doze off. Everyone else at the table would start laughing and it would wake Ariyana up….they kept laughing every time she started to doze. Then one time they looked over and she had fallen asleep in her bananas and potatoes 🙂 There was food all over Ariyana when my mom changed her for bed….poor baby, she was so exhausted. Then Sunday we all hung out and had a great time. Ariyana was really good and played with everyone. She is really walking now, she walks all over, she only crawls when she is tired or she is coming over to you so you can pick her up.

Busted Up
Well Ariyana didn’t have a very good day today at daycare. Around 11am I received a call at work from the daycare….I hate when I see their number pop up on the caller ID, my heart skips a beat every time. They were calling to tell me that Ariyana was walking by herself today and fell and hit her mouth on the ground. They said that she was okay but her lip was swollen. I asked if she was still crying and they said no she was fine. They gave her some sherbet to help the swelling (because it was cold) and gave her some TLC and she was doing better. It relieved me a little to know they took good care of her but I wish I could have been there to just hold her in my arms….I probably would have cried more than she had if I had been there though. Then when I finally got off work and could go check on my baby, I walk into the room and her teacher said Ariyana hasn’t been feeling well today. She said she was a little cranky (which is not like Ariyana) and that she didn’t want her afternoon bottle but it wasn’t because of her lip because she ate all her lunch and drank her bottle then (which is really not like Ariyana to not want a bottle). Then she said Ariyana was very cuddly and fell asleep in her arms….Ariyana never stays still so that is a huge sign that she isn’t feeling well. After we were done talking, I walked over to Ariyana’s crib (where she ws sleeping) and I looked down at her and her lip was really swollen….a lot more than I thought. It made her look like she had a huge overbite…it was so sad. It looked so painful, it hurt me just to look at it. I am never going to make it when she really hurts herself….it broke my heart to know that she was hurt. I got her home though and she seemed to be doing better. She pushed her little toy all around the house again tonight. The swelling had gone down a little by the time we put her to bed.
