Weekend Fun Baby!!!! February 24, 2009

On Saturday, Ariyana and her mommy went shopping for Richard for his birthday. We were gone for 4 hours and had a lot of fun. Her daddy stayed home to cut wood up for firewood. Ariyana only had one melt down while shopping and it happened in Kohls. She was getting fussy sitting in the buggy, so I let her out for a minute to walk around. When she got down, she took off running. I couldn’t get her to hold my hand or stay still so after like 3 minutes, I put her back in the buggy………..well she was not having that at all and just started crying. I finally picked her up and had to let her hold my credit card to get her to stop crying. Then we left the store and she was fine. Overall though, she was a perfect angel and we had a blast together.

On Sunday, we went to Jenn and Robb’s house to celebrate Richard’s birthday. Jennifer had food set up all nice and cute and we all had a really good time. Ariyana was a little fussy there but not too bad. She is into this new thing where she counts; 1, 2 real quietly and then yells 3 really loud, it is so funny. Although 3 sounds nothing like the word 3 when she does it, it is still hilarious. She did that a couple of times at Jenn’s house. She had a really good time playing with her family Sunday, I think she misses them sometimes.

Birthday Party Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! October 6, 2008

We had Ariyana’s birthday party yesterday and it was great.  We had it at a local park and lots of our friends and family showed up.  We left our house at like 1pm to go set up for the party which started at 2:30p.  Ariyana only took a 30 minute nap from 11:00 – 11:30 so I was really worried that she would be cranky at the party, but she wasn’t.  We got there and started hanging the decorations and unloading everything and Ariyana just sat in her high chair, watching, and content.  Then people starting showing up and she was held and played with while we finished getting ready.

Once everyone had shown up, we just mingled and ate some snacks and Ariyana made her way around to see everyone.  We had borrowed a big bouncer for the kids to play in and they had a lot of fun playing in that.  Ariyana was too young to go in there but I don’t think she noticed.  It was great to see all the people we haven’t seen in a while and it was just good to all get together.  And Ariyana was so good, she didn’t cry at all, she was overwhelmed a little at times, but very good.

After a little while, we decided it was a good time to do cake.  Ariyana had her own little cake and we put “1” candle in it, lit it and all sang happy birthday to her.  Then I blew the candle out and gave her the cake to dig into.  I really wanted her to get cake and icing all over her, but she didn’t.  She was kind of dainty with it. There were little flowers on the side of the cake made out of fondant icing and she would pick them off one at a time, hold them out, and then place them on the high chair.  Then there was a turtle on the top of the cake and she took it off and placed it on the tray.

Finally she started to eat some icing and pieces of cake.  She got some icing on her mouth and hands, but not all over like I wanted her to.  The cake was sitting on a little plate and she picked the plate up and tipped it over.  I took the plate and left the cake so she started to move the cake around the high chair.  Then she took the cake and pulled it into her lap.  So there wasn’t cake all over her face, but there was cake all over her lap….luckily she had a long bib on so it didn’t get all over her outfit.  That was all she wanted of the cake.

After the cake, comes the presents….and man she had some nice presents.  I sat her on my lap to help her open presents and the first couple she would watch me open and then she would get excited when she saw the toy.  But after a few, she was actually helping rip the paper.  there was one tall bag and she pulled the bag down and leaned up to peak in the bag to see what was inside.

She got toys, books, clothes, dolls, and a sandbox; she really seemed to enjoy them all.  She also got a Georgia cheerleading outfit, which is NOT COOL to her daddy because he is a big Georgia Tech fan.  Her aunt, however, is a Georgia fan and wanted to get pictures of her in it….it was kind of funny.  What made it more funny was that her daddy had bought and given her the Georgia Tech cheerleading outfit for her birthday too…..we know which one she will be wearing more 🙂

After presents, people started to leave and it was time to clean up.  The party did last about 2 – 2 1/2 hours and was so much fun….I know Ariyana had a great time.  She was so exhausted from the party that she fell asleep like 2 minutes after we got in the car.  She definitely slept well last night.

Weekend Fun!! September 16, 2008

Friday after work, I picked up Ariyana and we went to look for a dress for Ariyana for my sister’s wedding this weekend and for me a dress for the rehearsal dinner. I eventually found a dress for both of us and we ended up getting home at 8pm. Also my aunts and grandma came into town on Friday for the wedding. My grandma lives in NJ and has only met Ariyana once when she was 2 months old. My one aunt is from Ohio and has also met Ariyana once when she was 2 months old. And then my other aunt is from Arizona and has never met Ariyana. So of course we wanted to go see them. On Saturday we drove up to Helen and met them and my mom in Helen for an Oktoberfest parade…it was a very short parade, but we did get a good bit of candy. I made Ariyana wear shoes to the parade so she couldn’t walk in them very well, she kept falling down. I didn’t want her to skin her knee (we were standing on cement) so I put her back in the stroller. After the parade, we all went back to my mom’s house. My aunts, mom, and Ariyana all decided to go swimming in the pool. Ariyana has a car float that she loves to ride in. We put her in the pool in the car and she was just smiling and kicking her feet. Then my aunt starting running after Ariyana while my mom was pushing her around the pool. Ariyana had so much fun, she was laughing and smiling so hard….she loved it. Then after that, Zach and I went home and Ariyana stayed to spend the night.

Sunday we went back to my mom’s to visit everyone and pick up Ariyana. My two sisters also came up to see everyone. When I got there, I asked my mom how Ariyana did. She said Ariyana was a perfect angel. I was a little worried since Ariyana didn’t have a nap on Saturday, except for the car ride up there (35 min). My mom did, however, tell me that Saturday night at dinner, Ariyana was sitting in her high chair eating pieces of bananas and mashed potatoes. My mom said Ariyana started to get really sleepy and would start to doze off. Everyone else at the table would start laughing and it would wake Ariyana up….they kept laughing every time she started to doze. Then one time they looked over and she had fallen asleep in her bananas and potatoes 🙂 There was food all over Ariyana when my mom changed her for bed….poor baby, she was so exhausted. Then Sunday we all hung out and had a great time. Ariyana was really good and played with everyone. She is really walking now, she walks all over, she only crawls when she is tired or she is coming over to you so you can pick her up.
